In the sping of 2009 I had a home for sale in Seneca Terrace on Tucson's eastside. when I took the listing I asked the Seller's if they had polybutyl plumbing in the home and they did not know. We got an offer from one of the large broker firms in town and in the inspection period the buyers found polybutyl plumbing. the buyers agent insisted that the sellers replace the plumbing. This means tearing open walls in the home. The repair estimate was for $8000. The buyers agent also asked for a roof repair in excess of $2000. I encouraged the Sellers not to agree to the replacing the polybutyl. They trusted me and said no to the repair. The buyers agent came back and said "You will never sell the home without making the repair." The deal fell apart. Three days later we accept an offer for more than the original offer, closed the home AND MADE NO REPAIRS. Hit your back button.
